if it is an inline 6 check the back of the valve cover. I had the same problem and thought is was the rear main. only after changing it by having to remove the header and fuel system to get to it did I realize it was only the back of the valve cover leaking onto the back of the motor and dripping out right between the bell housing and the oil pan. I suggest getting a flash-light and after it has run for a bit inspect the back of the motor from under neath to see if it is coming from the top side rather than down low.
