Anybody know if TJ tailgate hinges will work on a YJ?

Anybody know an inexpensive source for replacement YJ tailgate hinges?

nope, already tried

I have some stainless ones that I want to put on, tried to drill out the srews and use a screw extractor, broke two of them in there.

Not sure what I am gonna do now.

Must have missed this post.

When I bought my first YJ, the hinges were rusted out and one was broken. The guy I bought it from told me he would throw a new set in, and mail them to me. He did, but they were TJ hinges. The only difference I saw was having to use different bolts because the YJ heads would not seat in the TJ bracket right. They would have worked but I sheared off two torx heads anyway and even if I hadn't they would have looked stupid not seating properly, so I drilled through the tailgate and used new bolts with nuts and washers on the inside.

Worked for me. I'll look to see if I can find a pic but I doubt I have one.

From what I can remember they did. I don't think the holes lining up was an issue, and I just drilled through the existing holes. You got a TJ nearby that you could measure the holes to be sure?

Mine didn't line up perfect thats why I didn't use them.
