I want two Jeeps, an old Scrambler as collectable, weekend cruiser, and a built YJ for trails.
I'll use the YJ here as I think that's what you were really looking for anyhow.
A 91 YJ Sahara (already have the Jeep) built for trail;s that are primarily off camber stuff and mud. It would need to be able to handle rocks, but just obstacles on local trils, not "rock gardens". Sorry rock lovers, it's what I prefer
IF it were an older CJ I'd probably make an attempt to get a Jeep motor like a 360 and start off that, but since it's not I'd build it with a Chevy drivetrain, probably a beefy crate 350, with a TH400, and an Atlas xfer case. For axles I'd probably get (since we're going for "dream" here) a set of portal axles from a Unimog. This would probably allow me to get away with just a SOA on RE 1.5" reverse eye springs and still be able to run big meats. I'd probably run a set of cut 38" boggers. It will be a mudder, right?
I'd get someone around here to make me a full cage, and I'd paint it in Aervoe mil spec apoxy OD paint. I dunno... that was off the cuff... something like that anyhow. Never really thought about building one on an unlimited budget. Mine's pretty limited
(edit) I'd get an 8274, I know there are better winches out there but they look gnarly and are reliable and fast as hell too
