Timken VS. Koyo

Alright, I'm rebuilding the T-case and front and rear axles for my CJ. The T-case kit I bought came with all Koyo bearings, and all the bearings already in the t-case were Timken. I'm about to buy front and rear end rebuild kits too, and need to know what to buy. Does Koyo make quality bearings? Or should I be sure to buy Timken? I've heard conflicting things about the two brands.

I used to sell bearings so here's the scoop. Almost anything bought out of Japan will have Koyo bearings. The kit was probably put together in an Asian sweat shop, hence the use of Koyo's. The Koyo's are not bad bearings at all, they are almost exlcusively used in Toyota's and you see the solid reputation Toyota drivetrains have. Timkens and Torringtons are top of the line in my opinion. You will rarely see the Torrington's because of the price. The Timkens are high quality whether they are the German or American made versions.
In short, if it came with Koyo's then leave them. If you have a choice to use in the axles, go with the Timkens. Never, ever use any bearings that say China on them.
