Tizer Lake trail (15 miles south of Helena MT off I-15 Jefferson City exit) this Sunday 6July03. It's a nice, sheet metal friendly jeep trail. It usually takes about 4-6 hours round trip. Meet at the trail head around 10am (8:30am at Perkins on Cedar St in Helena for pancakes if you want to join us).
Tizer Lake (Rating - 3)
It is approximately 6 miles from the forest boundary to Tizer Lake. The first four miles is the most difficult. This part is the slowest part of the trail both coming and going. Travel here is like driving up a old mostly dry stream bed. Rocks every where. Scenery on trail includes old mining sites and a lake. It is a rough slow hot trail, more suited to slightly larger than stock tires and mild lifts. For the most part, it is wide enough for full size vehicles.
Here's a couple of pics from my last trip up.
