Got an '03 TJ 4cyl that I purchased (not ordered) with A/C. Would like to remove/bypass my the compressor to gain all the HP that I can. Any suggestions?
The A/C compressor really shouldn't put any load on the engine when the A/C is not on as the clutch mechanically disengauges it from the drive belt system. So it's probably not something worth messing with. :mrgreen:
Sell it and get the 4.0. I dont think your loosing hp with the ac off. It don't take much to spin that pulley, Untill you turn it on.. I say leave it, or convert it to OBA.
thanx much for the advice - kinda thought i was lookin' for horses in a cow field, and y'all have convinced me that i am. the OBA conversion, however, bears more thought............................
