95 Grand Cherokee 4x4 w/4.0 , 210,000 miles , Foward gears ok but no reverse , trans was rebuilt 80,000 miles ago , changing fluid didnt help, any ideas ?

Inspect all rear clutch pack components. Transmission binds-up in reverse or will not engage reverse gear. Vehicle may creep forward when the engine is revved with transmission in neutral. Rear clutch element is normally engaged in all forward gears and must be off in neutral and reverse. Rear clutch element may be seized or engaged at all times. Inspect rear clutch pack. Repair as necessary. Suggest check all clutch and band elements with low shop air pressure after repairs are completed. Valve body must be off transmission case. See transmission case air pressure check port location diagram in applicable service manual. Rear clutch pack (forward gear) must not apply when front clutch pack (reverse gear) is applied. This job may get complicated if you don't know what your doing. you must know which clutch packs goes where and a complete tear down is mandatory. Welcome to Jeepz.

If i remember correctly, Reverse and first are on the same band in most transmissions and they are the first to go. With that being said i would get that checked out.

First gear ok, all foward gears ok, someone mention a pressure sensor, anyone had any dealings with a pressure sensor in the trans
