I live in a high drunk walking area of town and someone broke into my jeep last night. I found a tuffy console on craiGslist from a cj7 but don't know if it will fit, any ideas?

Btw the console and glove box were just pulled open from what I can tell but nothing important in either.

We won't know if it fits cause you didn't tell us what your putting it in.
if you have a cj or yj then yes, if you have a tj, then no

My personal opinion, don't leave things in your jeep that would entice someone to break in (radio, cigaretts, porno's, big bags with a $ sign on it)

or

Buy a armored truck or tank, I find no one F-s with those

If you are able to install motion lights shining on your jeep, that would work well to prevent the occasional drunk from poking around.

Sorry about that, I have a tj. Yea I think he motion sensor is my best bet . The only thing stolen was a small toolkit and loose change. I knew it was a possiblity of a break in. But my paperwork and Burned cds were scattered all over my interior. Any ideas on a way to make those a little more secure?

Build a false floor with a lockable compartment underneath in the back where the seat used to be and pray no one knows about it.

nothing more useless and irritating as a druggie thief POS looking for drug money.

Get either an alarm system, or just a little blinking red light. The fake alarm light is really effective, cheap and easy to install.

All I did was cut a piece of wood to go from wheel well to wheel well behind the back seat and then used an l bracket from underneath to secure it.Now if i lock the read tailgate the stuff it fairly secure.

I have one of those Smittybuilt glovebox vaults in my YJ, & it seems pretty strong.

It's not watertight though, & the door is slightly loose when closed but it has bumpers inside for the door.

I like my Smittybuilt glovebox vault. Seems pretty strong, although the door is a little loose when closed. (doesn't draw up tight) It isn't watertight either.

Of course you could get one of these to keep an eye out!
Notice the test vehicle at the end of the vid.

I'ld forget to disarm the thing and get cut into by it. :funny:

Now that you mention that, I would probably do the samething!!!
That would suck to get attacked by your own jeep!

If you park in the same spot just get some white paint and draw a outline of a body on the ground and leavsome dryed red paint splatered around that should do the trick.

Now y'all have reminded me of a friend who borrowed his Dad's truck.

His Dad had a teargas canister rigged up under the drivers seat.

My friend forgot to disarm it the next morning leaving for work late.:lol:
