RE: carb mounting studs on manifold help swapping carbs

The vent does not work, all other positions on the heater work fine.

The 4x4 light will not come on, yet I know that the vehicle is in four wheel drive and I have checked the actual bulb in the dash and it is fine.

I am afraid I am a little out of my element here, my hunch is that it has something to do with the vacuum lines, but I have nowhere to begin.

My Jeep is a 1997 Wrangler SE.

I would appreciate any help with very detailed instructions on where everything is located and any posibilities to try. I am a newbie, so if there is any other information you need please let me know. Thanks in advance. It is greatly appreciated.

Definately a vacuum problem, there is a vacuum disconnect in the front axle which engages one side when you shift into 4WD. If it is not working the 4wd light will not light.

Start by checking all your vacuum hoses to see if they are damaged or disconnected. The problem may be obvious if you are fortunate enough.

Not so on a TJ, no CAD in the front axle.

Now the vent issue sounds like a vacuum problem.

RE: Transfer case removal

As far as the heater vent I can't just tell you to check all line on the back of the switch , as far as the four wheel drive light it may be the shifter linkage is a little out of wack move it slow see if the comes on at all.
