I thought i had everything fixed and what not, but apparently i dont. My TJ has started to die on me every now and then, and it hesitates off the line sometimes too. I need to change the oil again, along with the transmission fluid and rear diff oil. Yesterday i noticed that at about 40 mph, my oil pressure gauge was reading normal at around 40, but when i would be idling, it would drop to about 20. Today when i was watching it, it would stay around 40 at idle, but then go up around 50 at speed. something is telling me i bent a rod. Also, i think my transmission is trashed. Sometimes it forgets to shift into first when i stop or slow to almost a stop, and sometimes it wount shift into 3rd untill almost redline. What should I do? Thanks!

You stalled out in a water hole deep enough to drown the engine and you haven't changed the transmission fluid and diff lube yet? I'd be dropping the pan on that automatic and doing a filter and fluid change right away.

The oil pressure sounds okay.

RE: CJ lock cylinder

oil pressure sounds sounds normal.

Definatly change ALL the fluids as soon as possible. You may want to take it by a good oil change place and have them flush out the transmission really good.

It's an automatic right? If it's not already destroyed, it will be if you keep driving it with water in it (which I GUARANTEE there is water in it).

Also take off the distributer cap and clean all the points really well. They might be corroded from all the moisture...which would cause some hesitation everyonce in a while like that.

And keep putting in new gas whenever you get the chance and put in some of that stuff that removes moisture from the tank.(but if you have the time to drop the tank and empty it...I'd do that instead).
