My jeeps front bearing went out and I need to put the new one in. It is a 1994 Sahara. I was just wandering what special tools I will need to do this job. I thought this was a basic job am i wrong? What size socket do i need for the huge bolt?
:???::???::???:

The axle nut is 36mm, and you need a 13mm 12pt. socket for the three bolts that hold the bearing assembly to the knuckle.

The bearing assembly is tough to get out of the knuckle, I'd recommend loosening the 3 bolts a 1/8" at a time, then put the socket on them and tap the knuckle out the 1/8", then repeat.

Make sure to put anti-seize on the steering knuckle when installing the new unit bearing. It makes it much easier to remove the next time.
