What do you do for a living?

RE: 35s...fora day

As of yesterday I am now employed. It's only contract work for now but should keep me busy for a few weeks. I am doing desktop computer support for Regions Bank.

Shop foreman at Wilmington Grill Company. I've been there since 96 when we started the company, and was with the sister company(machine shop) for two years before that. They were family businesses, but we were recently bought out.

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
you can also replace product support with billing (and no you are not eligible for a refund after not being able to connect for 2 hours today)

I am very "multi-tasking"!
1st: My first and MOST important job is Poppa (my little girl is 8mo. old)
2nd: I am a cheaufer (show-fur), I drive my wife nuts :D
3rd: I work with my long time friend and boss doing landscaping and snow plowing (he's the gut I bought my Jeep from) I have gotten to the #2 spot in the course of two years by hard work and many many many busted knuckles. This job should give me about $5000 extra dollars by fall (that is living lower middle class)
4th: SOON to be an auto mechanic in Austin, TX. I hope to move down there with the extra $5000 I earn this year. If that doesn't pan out I'll go AIR FORCE, I tried here, but they held me out beause of 8lbs. so I said "F&%k YOU" to the recruiter (who was NO help @ all). Don't they have a quota to meet or something? Hopefully the Texas heat will sweat the now 15lbs. off my A#s.

Just finished my second day on my new job as an Irrigation Field Service Tech for the fastest growing landscaping company in Sedgwick County.

RE: WOOHOOO I Got My Jeep Back!!!!!!!

I started working on a huge dairy farm when I was 11. It's been 7 years, and I now work at Wal-Mart till the Spring. Then I'll be going back to my old fun job... No action talking with people.

I am the quality engineer at a medical device company. We make mostly sharp pointy things.
That's sounds like something I would like doing. Is it interesting, or does it just sound like fun?

wasn't this a previous thread?
Yes, but it's been a good while. It's fun relating to some of the jobs, and I feel your pain with working at a Dairy Farm.

RE: Another poopy cj

I am a former Producer/Editor (Avid Certified) and Videographer inr Broadcasingt turned General Manager of a furniture store. Yes, I chased the money. Television and film suck BTW. It's an even worse industry than retail.

Now, I'm currently looking at a career change and researching several options in the healthcare industry because the grass is always greener AND retail is causing me to lose faith in humanity.

I still do some side jobs doing video assist, camera work and editing, whenever my old cronies in Albuquerque call me to duty...for the right money of course.

I also run a small Surrey dealership down here in Las Cruces and business is booming!

RE: Another Newbie

I'm a supervisor within an aluminum wheel manufacturing plant for one of the major automotive manufacturers. We manufacture the aluminum wheels, ship them to Japan and all over North America then they come back assembled on the vehicles. Right now we are producing over 6000 wheels every 24 hours and are currently under expansion to produce a whole lot more. My job definately isn't fun because whenever anyone screws up under me, I'm the one that has to take the blame by my bosses, then I have to go give that person $#*%. Being a supervisor means that so many people dislike you for doing your job which usually involves giving people $#*% when they screw up but the way I see it is that I'm there to make money, not friends.

Currently working for a telecom company as a fiber optic network tech. I have been in the telephone business for 33 years. Worked as an installation/repair tech, lineman, splicer, central office tech, PBX, and key system tech.

But I am still not sure what I want to do when I grow up!
