Wiring headlights through a relay...Snitty?

I'm planning on running my headlights through a relay this weekend. Since you mentioned how hot the headlight switch gets with H-4's I felt mine and it was burning hot...never noticed it before. Is this an accurate diagram on how to wire the headlights through relays? I've wired realys before and it's no problem, I just want to get this done as quickly as possible with no hangups. I've noticed they use two seperate power wires from the battery going to each relay. Will it rob me of any power output if I run 1 power wire off the battery and split it to both relay's?

there will be no problem runnin both relays off the same power... only one circuit will be closed at a time, except for the mere moment when the high/low switch is pulled back between low to high... I actually used 12g trailer wiring, which is already bound together, to run to the headlights, each light will need 3 wires to it... high 12v, low 12v, and a ground... i brought all grounds back to the relay station to run to a common ground... you don't have to do it that way, but i wanted all important connections in one local area for ease of troubleshooting in the future...

the scematic in that write-up seems to be pretty easy to follow, and looks as though it will function well...

If you get a relay (like I did) with dual 87 posts.. NOT 87 and 87a.... JUST two 87 posts... you can hook each side to its own 87 post instead of splitting off one

be prepared for some bright sunzbetches.... my high beams will now give the sun a run for the money.

I think I'm gonna use two seperate power wires to each relay anyway, I don't want to risk blowing my fuse and having no headlights.

that will work... can't be too safe... i'm ok with the fuse deal because i have plow lights as well
