Yj SYE kit

My brother had his rear drive shaft break in his 93 yj with the 4cyl and 3" lift. We are looking for another one and we noticed that he has a SYE kit on it. Anyone know what drive shaft we'll need or will we have to have one made?

You'll have to have one made. They're expensive to have built from scratch so I'd highly recommend having his shaft rebuilt if the yokes are still in decent shape.

Next cheapest option is to find a used front driveshaft from a TJ or XJ and have it shortened to the length he needs. Those two Jeeps came with a CV front driveshaft which is also used in the rear with a SYE setup.

Also check out companies like Tom Wood's Custom Drive Shafts - Tom Woods Custom Drive Shafts Custom Driveshafts Specialist that can get one built and shipped to you pretty quickly. The site has instructions for measuring the length you need.

The yoke on the axle is fine but somehow the one in the transmission got busted up. I've already replaced it. I don't even think he has the old drive shaft. Thanks for the advice. Maybe it'll be easier to find a drive shaft for one of those rather than a yj with another SYE kit on it.

If you can afford it, just go with a Tom Woods one. They have great service, and make one fine product! I have their DS both front and rear.

I did get a new one made from company called Jackson Powertrain. I feel confident that it will get the job done. I don't remember the exact price but I want to say it was around 250.
