318 Swap

I am looking to swap out I4 AX-5 combo to a dodge 318 (transmission undecided). Has any one had experience (good or bad on this particular engine swap? I have a NV4500 transmission available.

Sorry Can't help you. I have swapped a Slant 4 for a 304 in a 63 IH scout. I can tell you that I would never do it again.

Is the NV4500 from a Dodge?
If not then why put a 318 in there, you will just have to buy an additional adapter. Get a Chevy motor if it's a Chevy NV4500. You can save the money for your transfer case adapter.
Besides every Dodge 318 I have seen is a ridiculous gas monster. You would think you were feeding a 454.

yeah.. the chevy v8 would be a lot better than the mopar v8... unless you're going with a new hemi.. then you've got bad ass points.. and they're not bad on gas
