SBC Spark Plug Wire Help

I'm swapping a SBC into my 84 CJ7. Anyway this project has been on and off for the last 5 yrs (due to moves). I'm about ready to fire it up again but somewhere along the line the plug wires were removed.

What is best way for determining which spark plug goes to which spot on the distributor?

It is a 327 out of a 68 Impala.

The cylinder numbers are stamped on the intake so I do know those. And I also know the firing order. But I'm not sure where they go on the distributor.

When the timing mark is at TDC, the rotor cap should be pointing to cyl #1 on the distributor (if memory serves???). I'm thinking it rotates clockwise, so you could just go from there (firing order).

Heck, I don't even have a distributor on my Jeep.

Firing order is on the manifold. I used to know it by heart, but it's not coming to me now. And when you drop the distributor in the arm should be pointing at the right headlight when you're on #1.
