Ok the deal is my steering box just started leaking today and I don't know why...It is power steering ...its the box under the front bumper...It's a 88 ..4.2 YJ

Hey Jhiggins!!!

That sucks. Most likley it is leaking cause that steering box was designed to turn 27-29 inch tires, not 33 incher's and up. Think of it like axle bearings. Factory ones do fine but can get stressed with added weight of bigger tires and leak. If you have to replace it, depending on the design of the rig (daily driver, rocks, mud) Now you have a reason to up-grade to a hydrolic steering system, or maybe a upgraded steering box. I have seen kits to rebuild and/or beef up factory steering boxes (universal kit in JC Whitney) I am by no mean a expert in steering geometry, but this is what I know
