real or synthetic?

So what does everybody think about synthetic oil? and say putting it in a 2000 XJ? I've never used it before, but didn't have a good reason why when asked about it. What do ya'll think?

I think synthetic oil is great on a new or newer (low mileage ) vehicle. My take on putting it in older motors is here:
