    Wrangler X 2006 TJ, rear brakes lock-up.

JPNinPA thank you: OK I will inspect all 4 brakes again next week. Can anyone that has a jeep like mine lock up the rear brakes when coming to a stop? I just do not think they should lock up like this, I may have the drums too tight but not rubbing?

    Wrangler X 2006 TJ, rear brakes lock-up.

Rear drums, no locker (stock). When I first got the jeep it would lock one rear first, so I cleaned and adjusted all of the brakes. Both rears lock up evenly. Is it just me??? With rear drums if braking hard can the rears lock up this easy? The jeep is very light in the rear.

95 Grand Cherokke needs a home.

The jeep is a 1993 year model, manual is 1995, no pink. Hatch, doors windows are good. I have not had time to do anything with it to date, but would like to see it go to help someone fix their Jeep. VIN# 1J4GZ78Y2PC52307.

    Wrangler X 2006 TJ, rear brakes lock-up.

I had this jeep for 2 years and the rear brakes started locking with hard braking. No ABS system. Rear drums. Manual said it was the combo (prop) valve. I had the Jeep dealer change it and flush the system (I supplied the valve new from Jeep). After driving it home all felt good, but after...

Would you buy this 67'cj5 parts lot

Well: How hard are the parts to find? Do you need or going to need the parts? Do you have some place to keep it for the long term? YES : then go for it. MY 2 cents.

    towing a jeep

Thank you: tie up the drive shafts would be the safe way to go. Why do some just put transfer case it in "N" ,trans (manual) in gear. what damage would this cause? Does the DS burn up the seals when turning ? I am the type of person that likes to know why I do it this way, I don't want to start...

    towing a jeep

Does anyone know why you put the manual trans in a gear (1st recommended) & transfer case in neutral, 4 wheels down? I have only towed the 47 Willys 3 times and have been told different ways, even when filling with gas, I was stopped by someone and told to remove my rear drive shaft! SO will...

    Need help with Electric choke.

MOJO69: Did it run before you changed anything? To check timing belt or chain remove dist. cap and see if the dist. turns as the engine rotates. Is there a electronic module? I do not have info on your year. good luck!

    Need help with Electric choke.

CJDAN: The more INFO (year, model,ECT.) the better we can help. An after market elect choke on one of my trucks is hooked up to a hot wire when the starter switch is in the run position, then to a resistor (any parts store), to the choke pin. The choke gets hot from the 12 volts (resistor...

engine, trans combo. for my jeep build?

I herd the T 90 bolts to a ford small block, (does this also mean the 6 Cly in my 47 also?) or did the PO do some extra work to make it fit? To fit a Chevy 350 or anything thing else, the trans has to be a 4W drive unit, then use an adapter plate to fit it to a DANA 18 or =? Dano: we will get...

My wife wants a new "car" but can't decide! She has a Subaru:PROS: AWD (we have snow here), heated seats & windows/mirror's. CONS: 4 cylinder (does not cut it in the mountains) road noise, tight for 4 people. How does the Rubicon or other rate? Thank you!

    Alternator for 47 Willys

Thank you for the info! I think the connector with the resistor is for one wire ALT's. For 3 wire, the terminal 2 is for remote voltage sensing as in the jeeps with all the off road lights, big sound system, ect. connect the wire at the junction block to get higher voltage to where you need it...

    Alternator for 47 Willys

My alt was not charging so I just went to the auto supply and picked up a rebuilt unit. It is a DECO and has a batt terminal and a connector with pins 1 & 2. Pin 2 goes to the batt terminal and then to the battery +. A resistor of 200 ohms goes from pin 2 to pin 1, No other connection is there...

    Installing 11" brakes

Thank you I have printed it out but it does not talk about the master cylinder size, I had read that for drum brakes you need the smaller size bore? I would think the larger bore would give more pressure for manual brakes. So just looking for more input! Mark
