06 TJ fender flare help ?

I just started taking off my stock fender flares on my TJ to put bushwackers flat fender flares on but I'm not sure what the proper tool is to get the bolts off. Nothing Ive tried (using a 5/16" socket wrench like directions say) has been able to fit between the bolt and the inner fender wall!~? Any help is appreciated! :???:

push harder. they are just 5/16 sheet metal screws. over time the plastic comes up and surrounds the screw head.

You can always heat up the socket enough to melt the plastic while you insert the socket to the bolt head, then turn it loose.
