22 MPG in my 1981CJ5

I used to get 18 MPG everyday. This past weekend I took care of an exhaust leak at the manifold, ran alot better and my muffler was finally put to full use.

This week I have been getting 22MPG in my '81 CJ5. I am running the original Inline 6, 258. Could repairing the exhaust leak have boosted my miles per gallon that much? I am loving life now, expecially with the price of gas going up everyday and with top down weather here for good in the great city of New Orleans.

the scavenging properties of an exhaust system are crutial... it is quite normal for an exhaust leak to eat away some mpg

I get 10 mpg if I'm lucky, and I have a 4 cylinder! haha.
