The taller 4.88s will be better for those runs through mud or soft terrain in 4-high. Use your low range to get you through the other stuff. The 2:1 low range in your Dana20 is the biggest hurdle. I'd probably plan on swapping it out, or going to a 4:1 low-range gearset to give you a good crawl ratio if needed.
