Air compressors

Anybody know what I am looking for? I want to take an air conditioner pump and hook it up to my 258 I6 as an air pump for tires/tools, etc. I think the name is York, but are there other pumps which would work as well? Can I steal one from Ford/Chevy and get brackets made to work? Did CJ's have air conditioning and would those work out as good pumps? Sorry it is a little confusing maybe but it has been a long night.
Thanks for the help[addsig]

I'd go with the York (from a ford, volvo, and some saabs). They do not need an external oiler, the oil basically stays in the compressor.[addsig]

Oh yea, it's been done. Many a posts about it. I did mine up almost 15yrs ago. You can get A/C pump brackest from junk yards, from jeep vehicles that had A/C they'll bolt right up to the block over the alternator. Or you can get complete kits from a few different places. The kits will include everything, tank, fittings, pump, lines, etc.....
$$$$ for the kits, or fairly cheap to put together by yourself.
