Quick question.. on the rodeo rear axle, is the caliper mounting bracket welded on, or is it a bolt on unit?

also, what/where/how is the park brake incorporated? is it in the caliper or is it a seperate smaller drum style inside the center of the rotor?

I'll have to take a closer look at it, sitting in a friend's shed. Get back with you asap.

E-brake appears to be a drum style inside the rotor. The caliper bracket is bolted to the axletube, and the caliper bracket appears to be about 1" thick. I've heard of other models of OEM brakes that aren't too hard to bolt on, but don't remember specifics. Best info on that is probably on Pirate.

RE: smoke problem

Thanks, I picked up a 99-03 rear chevy 1500 disc assembally for cheap. I just need to maching the bracket, and bolt up some caddy calipers.. Thanks BH!

FYI and P.S. I tore the front D44 apart, mine does not have the vacumn disconnect in the carrier at all, someone Before me, replaced the carrier and pass. axle so that is would not be vacumn activated anymore.. hope this helps.
