Wondering if anyone knows what the maximum, safest rpm to operate my York compressor at. I'm gonna be putting a hand throttle in and want to try to set it up so I can lock it in position at the proper rpm.

Depends, is the York under driven?

If your using the OBA.com pully I believe you to be using, Works fine at stock idle if you simple airing up tires, if you want a little more umph, and cause my thumb throttle is sitting in my living room, I simply rev the motor a little at the throttle body.

I think you mounted yours on it's side, you want to be care ful of over revving cause you'll discharge all the oil and say good buy york!! I would venture to guess to keep it under 1500 rpm's

I have air tools that I want to run occasionally so the stock rpm isn't enough to keep up. As for the oil discharge, I found a site a while back which shows how to eliminate most of the oil discharge which I'm gonna try when I get time.

mine spins about 2000 to fill tires. Not a higher rpm from the motor. Just overdrive pullys.
I was tellin ya about them before you put your oba on. But everyone shot me down.
Scroll back a few and check.

Can't seem to find it. I don't remember reading about that one. What are and how do you run overdrive pulleys?

Thanks for the info. Since I've already got the hand throttle and the cable is already installed, I'm gonna go that route. If I don't like how it works, I'm gonna try the overdrive pulley.
