Engine Flushing

Hey everyone, does using an engine flush like many companies make (amsoil, valvoline gumout etc) really make your seals and gaskets POSSIBLY start to leak if you use it to clean out your engine before the next oil change? I have a 97 cherokee with 134K miles on it, id be really scared all my seals and gaskets would turn my engine into a waterpark   ....yeah thatd be bad

I flushed my 79 CJ while rebuilding my cooling system but never used an additive. Bought a 3 buck inlet attachment made by Prestone and put inline of the intake heater hose. After you drain and catch the old antifreez just hook up the garden hose and back flush the system. I have had no problems and really do not see how it could cause a problem. Other than hoses water pump and thermostat goose neck what else does the water come in contact with. Maybe I am missing something here. Tug
