Gear Ratios

im thinking about doing an axle swap on my YJ, i plan on going with a ford 9" in the rear and a dana 44 up front. i plan on putting a set of 33's on it but i know that is really gonna be hard on my 4.2. i was wondering if anyone knows the mathematical equation to gear it to make up for the size of the tires, i will want it to be as close to the stock ratio as possible

do you know the gear ratio that i have? i have an 87 yj 4.2 with stock axles

chances are you have a 3.07 ratio

I have heard of people special ordering jeeps with a 3.55 ratio in a 4.0 though... my brothers jeep had 3.55 in his 93.
