hot runner from hell

Been workin on an xj for a buddy seems to be running way to hot driving its fine will stay about 210 but setting or wheeling at slow speeds and it goes in to melt down replaced water pump thermo flushed the system got all the air out and hooked up fan to toggle seems alot better does not over heat now but still seems to run alittle to hot I've never hadany of my 4.0 run this hot

Is the rad clogged with mud or dirt on outside. or fins damaged?

What year? Mine used to pack mud between the AC condensor and the radiator and ran warm. Another reason I hate mud.

It is a 94 and i all ready thought about the mud thing its clean as can be

Start of a head gasket problem or a exhaust problem. O2 or something causing it to run lean? Can you watch fuel trims or have a sniffer.

Heater core was plug go figure replaced it and running normol now
