Jeep clutches.

RE: May I just point out...

Just had to replace my internal slave cylinder for my clutch and decided to do the clutch at the same time. I searched around everywhere and posted on 4 different sites about what kind of aftermarket clutch would be best for my YJ. No one on any site seemed to know much about aftermarket clutches for a jeep so I called around to many places and searched all around the internet. What I came up with was Luke gold series clutches for anyone who needs to replace their clutch and wants to upgrade it to a better system. A lot of the guys at different shops swear by Luke clutches and most say they wouldn't go with any other brand. The clutch is made up of materials used in high performance clutches used in racing. The clutch kit even came with the slave cylinder. The pedal pressure is even less than a stock clutch which is good for me since I'm stuck in rush hour traffic every day. Mabye this'll save someone the hassle I went through of finding a good aftermarket clutch.

Yep. I origionally wanted a dual friction centerforce clutch because I had one in my old RX-7 and loved it. Most places I called said centerforce clutches are good but a real pain in the butt, especially if you're taking it off road. The centerforce clutches use magnets to operate them somehow and mud/dirt will destroy the clutch fast. Besides, the centerforce clutches won't fit into a jeep with an internal slave cylinder.

ah, not true..I had a duel friction in my ax-15 w/ 4.0 and it had the internal P.O.S. slave cylinder. Worked muck better than the so called heavy duty ones (2) i had before called brutte or something. I'm to hard on clutches anyway thats why i went auto.....

I had a Centerforce 2 with my 350 and Peugeot with internal slave.

I wouldn't waste the money on a performance clutch with a stock jeep engine, they just don't produce the power that would require the extra holding power of a performance clutch.

Good choice with the LUK clutch though, I try to get OEM LUK when possible. I get mine from www.carolinaclutch.com or www.dialaclutch.com .

The Centerforce don't use magnets, but weights on the pressure plate fingers.

I wasn't so concerned on the power but more because of larger tires. They can be just as hard on a clutch especially if you're on the clutch constantly when rock crawling.
