RE: Axle Flip Lift?

Before reformatting my hard drive last week I saved my Kazza Lite program. I reloaded it to my computer today and it won't log onto the site. I've tried searching all over the web for Kazza Lite and you have to pay for it now. Is there no free P2P sites anymore? I thought only Napster went to a pay site and that Kazza was still free. Anyone have any links to any free sites?

I quit P2Ping when they caused lawsuit crap and started charging. I'm now on a russian mp3 site that you can get albums for 2 bucks at. Course, they are causing controversy too but oh well, at least there is an exchange in goods. I can't help because I don't know the answer. Sorry.

yeah, i mean you always gotta be careful cause of the federal laws now made... though you're in canada right? so check the laws there. but napster for the money isnt as bad as it may seem, but if you're looking for free, www.ares.com but i didnt tell you that

craig if you send me your IM handle ill send you kazaa lite, the older version that i run is still free but has all the good features, i think i got the last one before they started charging

Thanks. I have a copy of the older version that used to work. I've also found 4 links to older versions. I'm able to install and run the older version but it just sits there on "connecting". I think it might be because it's a new user name on the Kazza Lite site and all new names must register and pay. If you ever reformat or uninstall Kazza, write down your user name first.

front locker installed

Forget about what I said in my last post about being a new user. I just tried logging into Kazza again for the first time today. It actually logged in for the first time in two days since I reinstalled the program.

if you ARE going to use kazaa, which i recommend not doing... go to www.dietk.com and download DietK.. it is a program to run along with kazaa... it rids it of the bundled spyware and also has a few extra controls that make it a little more convenient

I dont do this illegal file sharing P2P stuff but if I did I would think I program called winmx is a good fit.

RE: EVERYONE READ!! IMPORTANT!!

i dont understand the legal issue of sharing things, its just that, sharing, not stealing or pirating or rippng off.

Sharing would be if you loaned a friend your copy of a song or cd and got it back at a later date. "File sharing" is really not sharing. It is allowing others to make copies or your music without paying for it. How does the artist make any money off of that?

RE: Test your subconscience!

welllll.... hmph, its definatly a fine line like snitty said and can be argued either way, and the argument might be more compelling had metallica not started it. those guys have been nothing but money groveling typical rockstars since they cut their hair and recorded the black album. personally i have been to many shows where the artists supported the downloading of their music. it gets them exposure and more often than not when people like a band enough they will go out and buy the cd regardless of wether or not they can burn it. i can see where the term piracy can get thrown around but i do believe that it doesnt hurt artists sales to a point its detrimental and is causing them not to be able to afford their porshces and mansions. most of the artists that complain about it get so much exposure, so many ad deals and promotions that they receive more money from those things than record sales. micheal jackson gets a lot of coverage and i dont see him complaing about downloads,

I have no problems with the downloading - I've bought a lot of stuff AFTER I've downloaded a few to see what I was getting. I don't have a problem with it and I use Winmx presently.

as i said about the fine line.. there IS a difference between sharing and copying... streaming audio, like a preview, would be more along the lines of sharing... basically what a radio does... "here's a song, if you want your copy, go get it".. but of course... there are ways to get around that... i've taken songs from streaming audio, and i've recorded audio from sources that are not actually strictly audio sources...

copying without paying is illegal, if it is without permission... and i do it myself... Metallica is my favorite band, and i download all of their music, but of course, i own the albums too... but even if i didn't, i'd still do it... and it is wrong, it is material they created to be sold, and i got it for free..

no it is not going to HURT them.. but it IS taking away from revenue that was potentially theirs if i had not had an opportunity to get it free...

then we get to another issue... i have a lot of songs on my computer that i would not have if it were not free... and i have a lot of songs that i WOULD have paid for if i didn't have the chance to get it free... those are the bands who lost potential revenue... if i think "nope if it wasn't free, i wouldn't want it" then that band was not losing revenue in the first place, because they wouldn't have had my money in the first place

RE: 1980 CJ 7 51000 Orignal Miles

Hi,

I'd suggest using Limewire or WinMX. Limewire being my new favorite as it is cross-platform compatible (i.e. it works on all Operating Systems).

I won't get into the argument about the "legality" of file sharing copyrighted material... :P

I tried Limewire a few years ago and found it to be very slow compared to Kazza. Mabye things have changed since then. I've also been told that Kazza Lite (not Kazza) has the least amount of popups and spyware compared to other programs.

RE: axle seals

If they made the pay sites like Napster a bit more competitive, I'd buy more from them. 1 dollar a song isn't horrible, but you may as well buy the CD with liner notes and all.

This is an interseting topic.
Like Snitty said, if some of the music he's downloaded wasn't free, he wouldn't have bought it, and consequently they have lost no revenue. Another perspective is, if they had sold the music of said groups at a more competitive price...then perhaps he might have bought them. How often is this the case? For example, from what I've heard I like Evanescence, but I'll never buy the album. If I could get it for 5-6 bucks legally, I would. But 16.99? No way. That price point has lost my business. What's better? 6 bucks or 0? This is the question the music industry needs to ask itself.

Also, less established more underground groups shouldn't charge as much, because they aren't "proven" or haven't the market exposure to warrent the usual 1-2 dollars per track. Popular artists like Metallica, U2, Aguilera, Aerosmith, No Doubt, and Ludicris have the fan base to do so. The Greyboy Allstars, an acid jazz group out of San Diego, doesn't.

Charging less does a couple of things: it causes more exposure, and brings in more revenue. And since it's all internet, there are no physical goods and over head to deal with, just bandwidth and server space.

So, I don't feel sorry for the music industry when it comes to this issue, they should covet it, and use it to their advantage. I don't do any downloading (anymore) but I say make them pay until they figure it out. They just need to get past their own backwards paradigms.
