Im looking at this 97, 4 banger wrang, its got a engine from a different jeep and (120,000miles on it) and rebuilt transmission clutch and t case 2 years ago. The jeep itself has 180,000 miles on it. I didn’t get to test drive it yet but 1 of the first things I noticed is when I turned the driveshaft by hand it moves freely and turns easily about little more quarter of a turn and then stops and then I can move it back. Same for the back one also. What can be the problem? What should I look out for in this jeep? Thanks!

Just a personal preference, no basis in fact, but I'm always leary of the "intro" years on vehicles - the '97 was the first year after the retooling (i.e. coil springs) of the Wrangler. And with the other issues you mention (different engine, rebuilt transmission and tcase, high miles), I, personally, would keep looking unless the price was just too good to pass up (i.e. CHEAP!!!!!). If I was set on a TJ, I'd probably look '99 or newer. If it was just about budget, I'd look YJ.
