Who do these people think they are??
They come to this country and have no respect for our private property rights and then open fire when confronted. This guy murderd 6 people in cold blood. Now you know the anti-gun left will use this to infringe on all of our gun rights.

And before anyone gets their panties in a twist, I am NOT putting down all immigants, but if you read into many of the stories about this murder rampage, this "group" of immigrants has a history of thinking that they can go anywhere and do anyting on private land and then at least this one thought he would just kill 6 hunters when they ask him to leave.

Makes my blood boil

Oh I agree. If you wish to come to our land, then respect it and it's citizens. I hope they burn this guy.

RE: No but this guy is a MURDERER

What exactly makes your blood boil - the murders or "this group of immigrants"?

RE: Holiday Wish list

The whole situation makes my blood boil. Nothing wrong with immigrants, but when they start disobeying our laws and harming other people-ship em out. I know people will say, "Oh, he didnt know he was on private propery" well you know what, ignorance is not an excuse.

The alleged disregard for our laws by this "group" or at least by this indiviual in part, led to the murder of innocent people. Fathers, sons and husbands, & bread winners.
The story as a whole makes me mad, the murders make me vehement. I mean.. why did he have to kill those people? Why not just leave? He wasn't hunting for food to survive, he had a nice home in town. He was not robbing for survial, the murders were evil, but then again, aren't they all?

Also, take a look at this:
man suspected in the killings of six hunters told investigators he began firing after he was shot at first and some of the victims called him racially derogatory names

Terry,
he also told police he did not realize he was trespassing.
Humm.. I drive into the country, walk into the woods, probable cross a few fences and find a nice tree stand that someone has built in the middle of good deer hunting. All on public land..what a country!!

I will give you the point that we can let the investigators do their job, but when the truth and details come out, we will need to talk again about the outcome.

Botton line today:

He was tresspassing.
6 men are dead and Mr.Vang is still alive.
The only other guy who could say who shot first is also dead by his gun.

Taken from the article I linked to above:
A hunter approached Vang to tell him he was on private property, and Vang started to leave as other hunters approached, the statement said. Vang said the hunters surrounded him, and some started calling him racial slurs.

Vang said he started walking away but looked back to see the first hunter point his rifle at him and then fire a shot that hit the ground 30 to 40 feet behind him, the statement said.

That's when Vang told investigators he started firing at the group, and some fell to the ground and others tried to run away, according to the statement.

As I mentioned earlier, there is much we don't know here - the above could be a total lie, but we have to wait and find out. If what he said is true, then it may have truely been self defense.

RE: Re: RE: Jeepz.com Poll

That is terrible. I feel for the family of the victims. I agree that the truth and the investigation will reveal a bit more, and based off of that maybe then we can pass judgement. Innocent until proven...

Either way, everbody's lineage started off being immigrants, and whether the guy is Vietnamese, English, or Botswanian doesn't make one bit of difference. We are all "Immigrants" in one fashion or another.

A crime is a crime regaurdless of race. If Vang was a fifth generation caucasian of Irish/German dissent, the murders wouldn't be any more palatable...would they?

I too hope the Left doesn't blow this out of proportion and use it to inact stiffer anti gun laws. And I'm on the left.

Allen Bolt Wallered Out

Not trying to say that he was right, because I dont believe so. But the country this dude came from doesnt have private property from what ive been told. Its all public land. It wasnt just that he didnt know he was on private land, it was that he doenst understand the concept of private land. Just what I was told, I dont know for sure.

RE: Allen Bolt Wallered Out

Whatever the story, it is a mess and a tragedy.

Makes me want to re-think my hunting trip this weekend.

yeah right

No way!! Go Hunting!. I'm going for some quail again tommorrow. (if I can swap my tires tonight)

dangit mingez, you just had to go say something I couldn't disagree with didn't you. My family immigrated from Scotland, Germany, and even somewhere back there, the French (I try not to claim that). The fact that the guy was an immigrant doesn't make this crime any better or any worse. It's still murder plain and simple. If he doesn't understand the concept of private property is his problem, not anyone in this country. Private property is the law of the land here. You learn the rules or you break them, and if you do the latter you pay the penalty. I saw on MSN that the guy was retired army. If you serve in the US armed forces you know what private property is. Either way, and even if he was called every racist term in the book, it still doesn't make murder any less of a crime, and the guy should fry for this.

I'm sure you tried your best. Dont beat yourself up for it. I'm sure I'll say something in the future for ya!!!

  That's funny.

Unless, of course, it was in self defense...which I doubt. I think I heard that there is some question as to who opened fire first. We have to see what conclusions are drawn from the investigation.

I saw on MSN that the guy was retired army.
Actually a relative was retired army. But I agree, ignorance of the law isn't a defense... that precedent has already been set. But he had enough savy to understand that he could purchase an SKS. That's interesting.

He will hire some sub-human lawyer to say he killed six people in "self defense"

Here are some more facts released by authorities:

The Sherrif's Chief Deputy is Tim Zeigle

He said two or three in the victims' hunting group confronted the suspect

He said it is not known who shot first

He said that there was only one gun among the hunters' group.

The dead included four males, including a teenage boy, and a woman
father and son were among them, he said.

Some of the victims were shot more than once.

In most states, Self Defense gives you the right to "stop the threat"

If the hunters did shoot first, with only one gun between them, what it appears he done was excessive(IE murder)

I would no be surprised if they find out something twisted about this guy or in his history. They did say he served in the Army in CA for about 4 months, he is 36 ys old.

Send him to Texas, we will smoke him! 23 this year so far.

Yeah, that doesn't sound like self defense to me. As I said, I doubt it was a case of Self Defense.

If he did serve, then he must have been a citizen long enough to understand the laws of the land (as wm69 said). Sounds like the excuses Vang is coming up with are BS.

Hey 90, the link above tries to get me to sign up for a membership to the KC newpaper. Can you copy and paste the story that says he's a CA army vet please? Thanks.

I does sound like he's a wacko though. What's going on lately?

This guy already has a history of spousal abuse, including waving a gun at his wife. This is one of the reasons I quit hunting, its just not the same anymore. I was driving down a hunting a road a couple of years back, and a van came down the road at me. I go to give them the typical hunter wave, and all of a sudden they turn in front of me, and I see that their sliding door is wide open and two gentlemen of minority decent are sitting there with SKS rifles. Now, whats even scarier is that my Dad is an Oregon State Police Fish and Wildflife Lieutenant and described the same van to me about a week later as a suspect vehicle in an attempted murder up in that area. Hunting is not safe anymore, never will be. Sure they need to invetigate this and find out what happened exactly, but when they have already said that he was "hunting these people down" I have to say I think he is just trying to cover his own butt. Xjay-I think we need to send more criminals down your way, here they sit on death row for twenty some years, its ridiculous.

Strangely, I've only done that to dove, due to the lack of meat and it being a bit on the bland side.

The quail went into what my co-worker calls a "Cajun Boiling bot". I call it gumbo, without the spicyness. It was good though. I like quail.

BTW, thanks for the links.

And the winner of the 4-Wheel & Off-Road’s 4x4 of the...

Yeah I believe Vang took it too far, but who knows what really happened out there. I can totally buy the theory that the hunters threw racial slurs at him, but that's no reason to go crazy like he did. It's a damn shame that noone will probably know the truth and that's where the injustice lies. Your word against theirs never comes out good for you.
