RE: Meeting the Muds: A Short Story

I have replaced the tub and frame on my 78 CJ7.

Thanks to all for helping solve my solenoid mounted on a fiberglass fender problem.

Well tonight I mounted the gas tank and hooked all of the lines.
Now it will turn but won't start. I took out a spark plug and laid it on the valve cover and it sparks when I turn the key. But when I press on the carb there is no gas going into the carb.

Is there something simple I might be missing? Do you have to prime the fuel pump?

Thanks

I didn't have to prime mine to get it working. (79 258 w/ mechanical pump)

I'd just trace the fuel lines all the way and see what you find. It's probably something simple! Good luck, let us know.

Do you have an in-tank fuel pump? There should be a grounding strap on your fuel tank. Check to see if your grounding strap is attached to your frame or your tub. Mabye it's attached to your fiberglass tub which would cause the fuel pump not to be grounded and not work.
