I have stock rims for my White 06 TJ Sport Wrangler her name is Fiona btw ;) and I am considering to paint my rims black. I have 2 stock rims and 2 hubcaps. Would there be a difference in appearance if I painted them both black? And what is the best way to paint them? Best Rustoleum products? Thanks guys!

Good suggestion terry I'm glad i posted this question up I was gonna just run with it tomorrow. thanks for that craigslist post!

I used rustoleum satin finish on my aluminum wheels. I cleaned em with simple green and sprayed, thats it. They are banged up from wheeling but i wasnt worried about getting them perfect. The point is, theaint has held up well.

Done it a couple times. Once purple rims with a purple jeep! hah another time black rims on a white jeep. They looked pretty sharp. Just be sure there good and clean/ and spray paint away. Good luck!

Also a good way to avoid painting the tire is to put wd40 on the tire next to the rim once all tries you can wash off tire and any over spray.

its funny u guys r talking about this i just started sanding mine to paint them black.

There is b4 and after I just finished today

First thing tomorrow morning! Now for the next question..

How and when to clean these fresh pained wheels!!

Thanks man when u posting pics of Urs. Lets check them out man.

I would wait 48-72 hours. Depending on temp. Use a mild detergent and keep the pressure washer a fair distance away.

I'm not usually a fan of black rims, but on the white Jeep they look pretty sharp.
