Rodeo D44 for YJ

Anybody see a rear D44 from a zuzu Rodeo D44 used in a jeep? I found one in a local yard and am leaning heavily towards getting it for my YJ. It's got the same 6x5.5" lug pattern as the Waggy D44 i'll be using in the front, PLUS it has disc brakes. I haven't found any negatives on this axle from the research I've done, so curious if anybody here has experience with this axle.

Thanks,
Chris

Never seen it done, but I say go for it, there can't be that much difference in strength when compared to the Jeep D44. Unless it's like the new TJ D44s with a smaller axle tube diameter.

But the tubes are not the same as the 35. The dana 44 (TJ) tubes are actually thicker than that of the dana 35.

Got them 33's on!

Everything I've seen says the axle tubes are the same wall thickness as the D35, that's why they're often referred to as 'fake D44's'. It wouldn't surprise me if this were true, considering the cheaper and lighter direction most manufacturers take.

if the $$$ is right, why not! Be a test mule and tell us how it goes!

I saw an article in 4wheeler about a guy who had a heavily modified rodeo. He was running the dana 44 that came in from the factory. And he had to be running at least 35 inch tires. He did however have modded shafts and a locker. Was something different and I say go for it!
