What do you think?

The first picture is a trail called "The Good, The Bad and The Ugly." That was our first stop. The Jeep was only off the trailer 5 minutes.
The second picture is of a TJ that didn't have a limit strap on the 4 link.
The 3rd and 4th are on a slimy, long and steep trail called "Los Primos."

We did pretty well. My goal was to work the bugs out before going to Gray Rock (which we did last weekend). The only issues I had were a hose clamp that wasn't tight enough and a re-used u-joint started squeaking. The u-joint lived thru both Morris and Gray Rock. It is getting replaced right now before I go back to Gray Rock this weekend. Everything else couldn't have been better.
I must say that out of all the changes, the engine has made the biggest difference in control and ability. I have never had a trail engine that was as responsive or easy to control as the 5.3. It will get with the program. I have run it two weekends straight under heavy abuse and it has not broken 200 degrees and only used 1/2 a tank of gas total. Major improvement.
The next biggest thing would have to be the stability the added wheelbase has offered. Being comfortable is key to making it go.
I'm having a blast with it to say the least.
BTW... the pictures really don't do those hills justice. They are long and steep.

Wheelbase 117"
Skid pan clearance 24"
Differential Clearance 11.75" each
Skid and diffs measured with 3psi in the tires. Might grow an inch or more with added pressure.

Yep, 3.
The lower you can go the better. I usually don't go by the numbers themselves at first. I air down to the point that the sidewalls start to bulge. When the sidewalls bulge the tires get wider (obviously) and the differentials start getting lower. It just happens that 3 psi is the balance point for the Iroks. It was around 5 psi with the Boggers I had.
If you don't have beadlocks, you also have to factor in that the beads may come unseated if you run much less than 10 psi.

I found out the other weekend that 3 is way too low for my 38x12.50 TSL's and I put three different pinch holes in the sidewalls... back up to 5 or 6

Aren't you running hummer wheels? It's not the magnesium run flat is is? I think we already covered this once. That magnesium will pinch the crap out of a tire.
5-6 psi sounds about right for that narrower rim. Mine are 10" wide so they show less bulging at 3psi than a narrow rim would.

Nice work. I hope to one day have a rig like that...won't be for a long time though.

I have the run flats cut down, but I was a little traction happy cuz it was raining that day :D. I just got carried away never having had beadlocks before and aired down too low I geuss. I don't know if the cut down run flats did it, or if it was something else. At least one of them looks like it cuz the tire had gotten really low and I think I may have slid onto the corner of the run flat and punctured the tire that way. Oh well, I've got two new ones coming.

Dude, I love your CJ. So, how is this your "inaugural" run?
See the "Transformation Nearly Complete" thread. Technically it's not the inaugural run, but since the Jeep was almost entirely re-built, I called it the inaugural run.

T.C. asks about any bugs? There weren't....At least not until I broke my Atlas transfer case this saturday. That one is gonna hurt the ole wallet.

Warranty! lol

Got the parts ordered. At first they wanted me to send the whole case out to them for repair. I talked them into just sending me the parts. That saved $200 in shipping anyway.
