so i put my mainshaft in my new np435 today and in the process broke these two little clips, they dont anything on, but i have a feeling they line something up. the descriotion that the exploded view gives is "spring, low slider" anyone have any clue how important they are? http://www.motivegear.com/TrancatPDF/NP435.pdf
theyre number 82 in the diagram
pleeeeeaaaaaasse help me

RE: rear end

They must serve some purpose, otherwise they wouldn't be in there...i would just replace them to be safe

new rock garden = fun and damage

transmission is in, i have a 75:1 crawl ratio now and a monster transmission that will hopefully last for a while. it was a great help yesterday on the rocks

RE: new rock garden = fun and damage

So how'd it go bolting it up to the 2.5L?

Notice any more parasitic drag on the road? Much gear noise from the transmission?

on the road its great, i like it better than the old transmission for sure, second gear is great, has tons of power, 3rd is nice and 4th runs well anywhere, , theres is some gear noise, but thats just because its an older transmission, its not hardly noticeable with a cover over the transmission hump. the onyl problem im running into is shifting my tcase and so right now im revamping the whole linkage set up.
to bolt it up to the 2.5 i called up AA and talked to mike partridge. got a modified nv4500 plate and a tcase adapter and taht was all besides a new clutch disc that had the same spline coutn as the transmission input shaft and the right diameter as my old disc. i ran about 78 mph at 2900 rpms yesterday, not bad considerings ome autos run at 3100ish at 75
