RE: Is Black Diamond better than a Rancho lift for a CJ7

I finished the SYE on my NP231. The case is now sitting on the floor in my garage, Id like to put it back in, but I dont know if I need to replace the seal in between the two..?... when I seperated them, the transmission poured out fluid (its a manual). So was that normal for it to loose fluid when seperated frome the transfer case and/or does that mean the seal is blown - gotta get a new one..?

thanks agin guys.

RE: 97 Grand Cherokee Rebuild

It's normal, just bolt it back up and go.

Check out the two shafts, you'll see that when bolted together they seal up tight.

It is likely some fluid that made its way out of your transmission output seal over time. There really is no seal between the two pieces, as long as you are not leaking fluid from between the transmission and case, you'll be all set
