Wont start unless i hit the gas....

For some reason my wrang wont start normally after i drove it for a bit. It starts great every cold (20-30F) morning when its sitting outside on my driveway witch is sloping upwards a little. But then when i drive and shut it off it wont start with out me having to giving some gas.. I just put in a new fuel filter. my driveway is sloping up but, not a lot so the jeeps front is higher then the back...

Did the problem start right after you put in the new filter?

It would help if we knew what you were driving... If you are carbureted, it might be the air/fuel mixture. when its cold,the choke will be on, making it run richer.

No, the problem was going on before the fuel filter. Then it seemed to go away after i put the new one in. Now it started again. Its a 93 Yj 4.0 MT its not carburated.

Here's a thought for you.. run some injector cleaner through the system. You might have sucked in some dirt somewhere.

I dont think this was an of road jeep, its 100% stock w/ a plow on it. But when i bought it, I got home and opened up the airfilter box and saw that there is no filter!!! I drove it for 100 miles home like that. And i dont even have a clue how long the other guy was driving it like that... so injector cleaner... any brand will be fine?

No air filter? Chances are the throttle body (TB) and related sensors are filthy. I'd remove the TB and sensors and give it a good cleaning. Be sure to clean the IAS housing really well, it's on the pass. side of the TB.

Yea i gave it a good cleaning already, I dident do the sensors thought i did the tube and the butterfly. I dident see and sensors. can you even sprey the cleaner on the sensor?

I wouldn't recommend getting cleaner on the sensors, although you should remove the IAC motor and thoroughly clean the IAC housing.

the IAC i believe has a plug with 4 wires going to it and the TPS has 3 wires, which ever the case, u can go to pep boys and get a bottle of that electrical spray, tehre safe for sensors and i use them to clean off sensors at work all the time...

Trans/T-case length issues

The IAC motor and housing are on the passenger side of the TB, the housing being held on to the TB with 4 tamper resistant torx bolts.
