    sway bar end link headache

p.s. the broken ones I have are stock, the dude at NAPA says his are a little tougher, a better design and can be lubricated, I like when you can lubricate stuff that moves :-) They are about $57 each ( Canadian)

    sway bar end link headache

Great idea! Thanks Terry! No, I'm not going with disconnects, the worst abuse my Jeep ( daily driver) sees is a lot of snow in winter and about 20 miles a day of dirt road, no rock climbing or anything extreem enough to justify the cost of disconnects.

    sway bar end link headache

Both my sway bar end links are broken. I got the end link off ok but I can’t get the damn part off the sway bar, you know, the little thing with the ball on the end. I took the nut off it, put on penetrating oil, beat on it, tried a gear puller on it, tried twisting it around with vice grips...

what is it and why is it broken??

The type of driving I do doesn't require me to disconnect the sway bar, but obviously its a little tougher than the stock ones can handle. Is there a " tougher than stock" type I can get? I assume the disconnect ones cost a premium, I'd be happy with a solid set of non-disconnect ones.

what is it and why is it broken??

LOL @ " new and pampered". Thanks everyone. I'll check those out. I don't want to just put on crap that going to break again.

what is it and why is it broken??

I'm the second owner, but the first owners were an older couple ( I know this for a fact, it's not just what the dealer said LOL) I do about 10 miles of fairly rough dirt road a day, but i dont generally abuse the Jeep or drive it hard, seems odd that both would break on a 5 yr old Jeep. Any...

what is it and why is it broken??

Crawled under my 2005 unlimited today for a spring-time inspection and to grease the front end and noticed this was broken. Then noticed it was broken on the other side too! No idea how long I've been driving it like this, I assume its not terribly important? Any idea why both siodes would break...

    squeek squeek squeek

thanks guys, i was leaning toward u-joint but wasn't sure, I'll look a little closer at that. I've read that the greasable ones are considered weaker because they are drilled for the grease passage, but I would think they are ok for general driving, dirt road, no-extream kinda stuff, right? I...

    Key transponders

there is a way to program your own key, the instructions are in the owners manual ( at least in my 2005 they are) its a strange processs that requires you to pretty much dance around nekkid waving a chicken over your head, but supposedly it works. If you want I can send you the instructions. I...

    squeek squeek squeek

I'm having no luck trying to locate a noise. Every time I turn left or right I get this high pitched ( almost like a bird chirpping) squeek squeek squeek coming from my front left wheel. The wheel is on tight and the only things i can think it might be are the u-joint or the wheel bearing. Only...

    tire rub?

ooooooooohhhhhh hang on I see you do have a 1" lift... in that case.... shrug

    tire rub?

my inexpert opinion is that they will rub if you dont have a lift. I think anything over 31 rubs without a lift.
