Thanks. Yeah it's all kind of a mess under there. I replaced the valve cover gasket a few months ago but never really cleaned it up. Last weekend in wiped off all the excess oil and the only fresh oil left is around these two components so I'll have to make a run to the stealership (so I...
Okay so this is gonna sound really dumb but I guess I can't search for something if I don't know what it is. As you can see from the pic I have quite a leak on the 2000 XJ. I gather that the small component on the left is the oil pressure switch but what is the larger one on the right? In...
Hello all,
So I live in San Fransisco and as you can probably imagine space is at a premium. If you're in the area do you know of any garage or workspace rental places that would allow a vehicle and welder to be next to each other? I can mostly just find 'fine art' spaces to rent. I...
Terry,
Thanks. It seems as though you'd still have *some* ability to steer since the draglink would be in-tact and the axle would be somewhat held in place by the links (I currently have a long-arm 4 link, not the lower arm y-link style).
If you do a quick google search for failing track bars...
So I've been reading up on track bars and am wondering why so many of the aftermarket ones fail, also what are the weak links in them, and what actually happens when they fail .... lets say ... on the highway?
Now I know RockKrawler seems to get a lot of flack (a few years ago) but I'm...
You can find all the details via the below links. I would prefer local pickup so if you're in the San Francisco/Bay Area and looking for a lift, this is for you :-)

Rubicon express 3.5-4.5" shocks for sale
After a bit of searching I *think* it's the hitch nut strip that broke off and is rattling around. It's a little odd since i torqued on the hitch nuts and everything is solid, I almost would've thought that something would break free.
The hitch was put on before I got it so maybe they didn't...
This happened to me and it turned out to be the IAC. I bought one from autoZone ($40 and 5mins of work to replace) and 2 weeks later had issues with it. I then just went for the OEM one ($115) and it's been fine ever since.
So I probably won't get any response from this but thought I'd post.
For the people that have replaced the rear bumper in their 2000 cherokee you might have an answer for me. For the longest time I've had this dull knocking sound from the rear. Tracked it down last night to something I...
Managed to get the slip collar off and from reading online most articles say that there should be a few snap rings behind it, however, I'm faced with some other sort of press-fit looking POS :-) In the attached pic it's right behind the bent up collar.
Does anyone know how to get this off...
Nothing actually. I just got a new lift and decided to go with a 231 w/ SYE since I had quite a lot of driveline vibration at my previous lift (3"). In searching it looks like I could only get $120 or so out of this t-case so instead I'm gonna tear it apart, learn a few things, and build some...
Yeah, that's basically the problem, I can't get to it. The tail shaft slip collar just won't come off, at all. I've used a puller and pretty much destroyed it then used a hammer but the thing just won't give. As I understand it, once the collar is off there are a few snap rings to pull then...
Hello,
So I recently got a new t-case and feel like messing around with the old one. I can't get the damn thing open for the life of me. Here's basically what's been done:
Unbolted the front
Unbolted the Slip-yoke which seems to be fused to the case
Removed the rear (transmission...
