usually things aren't this simple but when i bought my 04 I had the same problem with cool air coming out the drivers and warm air coming out the passengers. I have the traditional three knob system though. Anyway believe it or not it was just low on freon. It got charged up and is still running...
+1 also with belt off spin all pulleys and feel for roughness and listen for noise. Eyeball the dampener and see if it's slid on the rubber and also grab water pump pulley and see if there's any back and forth play.
I signed up back in September I think. Still feeling out a few different jeep forums and trying to decide which one fits me best. What can you offer

Daystar is good. Also did you buy new spring isolators? The old ones were probably shot and or smashed so you can gain another 1/4 to half inch replacing those.
makes sure it's the hose and not the big nut leaking or the canister. Buy some carb spray at the parts store and wipe it all down then spray everything and get it nice and dry next have some one crank the wheel back and forth to the extremes while you stand outside and watch where you think it's...

Jeep is something special.
so by your estimation a Landcruiser is more a Jeep than a Jeep which is not a flat fender or whatever you closed minded criteria is
If you really do feel that way then I feel sorry for you being so closed minded (must be a small and threatning world for you with new things popping up all...
