    Clutch question

I was thinking of seeing if I can remove the current pin and then replace it with a grade 8 bolt with a smooth collar of some kind that will rotate instead of having the metal slide against itself. Also placing a lock nut on the end to keep the actuator from slipping off. Sound like it would work?

This is Jeeps explanation of what "Trail Rated" means Jeep - 4x4 Basics - Trail-Rated Certification - 4WD SUVs ROFL here is a qoute from that very explanation: " Note: Do not attempt water fording unless depth is known to be less than 19 inches." I have done way deeper in my stock TJ lol :D

    Clutch question

I was under my dash bypassing the clutch lockout on for the ignition and I noticed the pin coming off of the clutch pedal that pushes the plunger on the hydraulic system was worn about half way through. It looks like there used to be a plastic or rubber piece that was on it at one point but...

    "Dangerous" electrical issue

Well it was a ground issue..... The jeep used to live in chicago so I am still finding rust in places I would not think I would find it. Damn salt on the roads lol. Turns out that the bolt holes for the tail lights had so much rust in them that it was preventing a good ground connection. I...

    "Dangerous" electrical issue

I did pull out all of the bulbs in the back and made sure the connectors were clean and that there was nothing in the sockets that might cause a bridge. I will see if I can pull apart my dash tonight. I will give an update once I get that done. Thanks man.

    "Dangerous" electrical issue

I seem to have a nasty electrical gremlin in my 97 TJ Sport. I was headed to the bank when I noticed that when I hit my brakes my odometer would go out. Also when I turned on my turn signal it would blink very fast and the odometer would also blink very fast. The odometer would also go out...

    LubeLockers

I am sure I am far from the only person that hates dealing with RTV. I was wondering if anyone here has ever used the lubelockers gaskets and if so what do you think? I have looked on a few other 4x4 forums and people seem to love em. I was planning on ordering them for both of my diffs.

    TJ fuse block

Sorry I was dead tired when I made that last post. I am talking about the PDC under the hood. The inside of the cap has a diagram that says what the relays are but not the fuses.

    TJ fuse block

Ok a little bit of rewording here. I just need help finding out what the layout of the PDC is for my 97(4.0,manual,soft top if that makes a difference). I have gone through the haynes manual, and looked at the owners manual for several different years of TJ. The haynes manual is useless in...

    Lifter ticking

I have a fairly loud lifter tick when I first start my TJ. It is annoying but does not seem to affect the performance of the motor. I have started saving up for a new motor anyhow but I was wondering if anyone else has had this happen. If so how long did you let it go before addressing the...

fuel tank size on 97 TJ (CANADIAN)

Just pull the pump and take it to the parts house with you. They should be able to determine the right pump and tank from that. Also you can contact chrysler and request a build sheet for you jeep. It should list every option that it had from the factory.

    steering box

I just had the steering box on my 97 replaced yesterday. I just went with a brand new assembly. The old one didn't fail until it had around 190k on it so a brand new one "should" last just as long. I would say to just get a new one and have it installed at a good shop that is not a...

    Opinions on spring spacer lifts

I was looking at the Rubicon Express 2" kit that comes with the spacers and the longer travel shocks. I did have one question however. I have gotten mixed info on if you will have to adjust the driveshaft angle with a simple 2" lift. Some people have said you absolutely have to do it to avoid...

    Opinions on spring spacer lifts

I was looking at a couple different spring spacer lift kits for my TJ. Nothing too big about 2" at the most. Since it is my daily driver I don't want to go nuts.....yet :D I was wondering if anyone has had experience with this type of lift and if so, any recommendations? I plan on doing a...
