Another @$%^%^$# brake question

Sounds like a carb problem, it can't handle the change in vacuum. Any other carb problems? IS the carb stock?

Gadget throws his trouble-shooter dart at the board...

The dart lands in the “brake power booster unit is defective” square.

Second dart: Since you installed an MC2100, check to be sure the vacuum reservoir (Where did they get that terminology? A reservoir for nothing?) is still plumbed into the vacuum system and functional.

Manifold vacuum produced by the running engine is applied to the reservoir. The purpose of the vacuum reservoir (which contains an integral one-way check-valve) is to prevent upsetting the carb air-fuel mixture when the vacuum assisted power brakes are activated.

The metal coffe-can vacuum reservoirs or canisters (on inner fender well, below the battery) are prone to rusting through.
