Re: Where is Oregon in all this fun??

Sorry but posted in another area so if you see it twice sorry. I'm looking at a 1950 CJ3a and was wandering what everyone thought a good price is for a fair body, good frame, should run with a little tinkering and a charged battery, and needs a little 55 yr tlc. It has a 6cyl apparently ford motor and other than that looks pretty much untouched.
Thanks Evan

RE: Popping beneath jeep while turning

Most need a LOT of tinkering. I would say in the ball park of $1500.

I had mine transported from CO to CT. The fuel pump puked while loading it on the truck in CO so it cost an extra $500. to winch it everywhere and that was the beginning. I'll post a before and after pic to give you an idea of what I did in one year. It ran all summer but I never went more tha 15 miles from the house. Finally the clutch went 6 weeks ago but I expected it. The Dana 18 t-box brgs are gone as well as the transmission. I just bought a used transmission t-box which I'll put in with the new clutch. Part are cheap and easy to find/buy. I'll do a frame off and do everything then and paint it with a base coat. This is just to give you an idea but I love it  . It's worth it.

Here I was doing body work and I revived an old 2A windshiled. It had an MB windshield.

no park lights/dash lights

It's worth it.

Ritt, that's for sure. A set of flat fenders that nice doesn't come cheap in my area. They just haven't aged that well on the coast here, and most "good deals" are rusted out dogs with locked up engines. Nice Jeep.....I'm drooling here.

Keep an eye on these sites, They show quite a bit of 2As and 3As and not too far from you. I know what you mean as far as rust. I'm about 20 miles from Long Island Sound but the worst thing is the road salt they spread for about 5 months of the year. My Willys sits in the garage from Sept. to May, well, it sits there anytime I'm not driving it. It rates up there just below my wife. :D

RE: Sweet deal on a d30!!!!

Thanks Ritt. I do have plans to get one, but they are on hold. I'm out of room and need to get rid of a couple of other piles of junk before I drag another one home!!
