clutch plates rusted together?

RE: Re: RE: water in auto transmission

Think Dad's clutch plates on his scrambler have rusted together. He hasn't driven it in 8-9 months and I've been on him about it sitting up, so he goes to get it out today and the clutch doesn't disingage even when the pedal is pushed to the floor. It's done it a couple of times (he doesn't drive it much) and he's been able to rock it back and forth with the transmission in 1st and the clutch held to the floor with a wedged in place 2x4. He called tonight and says it's really stuck this time. He tried tugging on it with his pickup and a chain and it still won't pop loose. Any suggestions? Obviously spraying any kind of liquid up in there would cause the clutch to slip, and my approach is "yank it till it pops loose or something breaks".

Spray brake cleaner up there, it'll evaporate dry and may help free things up.
