TJ Spacers

Hey a buddy of mine is looking at buying some 2" spacers for his TJ. Will he also need to get shocks, or will the stock ones work?

Lifting more... Driveline concerns

If he's just looking for the look yes he'll be fine with the stock shocks. The shocks don't lift the vehicle the spacers do.

will it lift it though. he doesnt do much offroading. he is just looking for the look.
yup, 2".

If he doesn't want to change shocks, he will be ok, but I would do it.

well he is on a tight budget. his jeep is stock and i want him to do something to it if we are going to roll together. I figured this would be a cheap way to get him to lift it.

31's or 32's(they'll both fit well....more flex on the 31's), you're choice but you need some meats to run under that lift.

Do the spacers have any effect on the ride quality. I plan on buying a Rubicon when my wife graduates from nursing school and would like to give it a little lift without sacrificing any ride quality in my daily driver.

No effect. Except that After market shocks ride better than Stock. I noticed a MUCH better ride when I replaced the Shocks with BDS Long Travel. Not as much roll on the road but flex up the wazzu. The stock wouldn't flex much when there was no lift on there and when you pull that piston out 2 more inches you can guess that the flex is just that much worse.

Does anyone have any experience with these adjustable spacers from Quadratec? http://www.quadratec.com/cgi-bin/sg...QA=1&UREQB=2&UREQC=3&UREQD=4&FNM=10&x=20&y=68

They look perfect for what I'm looking for. Just alittle lift for now and can adjust as needed.
