vin help

Can some one help me with a bin decoder for a jeep prior to the 1970.

Vin # 5774814280

I know it is a cj 6 but not even sure of the year.any help would be great.

74 = Body Style - Open Body (Universal CJ-6)
8 = Body Style / Special Model Code - Universal
1 = Drive Code - Left Hand Drive
4 = Engine Code - F4-134 without Emission
280= Sequential Serial Number


For anyone else, the Jeepz.com vin decoder can do 1972 - present vins

wow, serial number 280. that sounds low

From what I read, they made about 2000 CJ-6s a year, with a high point of 3521 in 1966. Production ran from 1955 - 81. It's a shame the VIN doesn't tell the year.

From what I found looks like it is a 58.

With only 1214 made that year.
