I have a stock Weber 32/36 on a 258 that continually runs rich. It shows rich on my air/fuel gauge and with a voltmeter (.8 volts). I am on the verge of stumbling with the air fuel mix - in other words, I have leaned it out as far as I can. Sooty tailpipe and black "puffs" on startup. Here are things I KNOW -
I have no vacuum leaks
performed top engine clean
Cleaned/resealed carb
Good choke
I am running between 3 - 3.5 psi on my fuel regulator
New plugs (burning clean)
TFI upgrade/Nutter bypass
No emissions/Cat converter
Timed at 13 BTC@1600
Runs/performs great! (except for poor mileage and running rich)
What else should I look for? Do I need new or different jets? If so, which ones?
