jeep tj lift problem

i just installed a 4 inch super lift on my tj and i ran into a problem. The directions said to bend the bumpstops back a little with a 2x4 and a hammer, but they would not bend. I did not put the bump stop extentions on because they would not fit without bending them back. the bump stop on one side is close to the spring and will hit the spring if it is flexed. What should i do???

oh I did!!!!! I used the ultamate GBFH, no it was the Biggest GBFH. and nothin. I used a bottle neck jack and to bend it back, and it did bend, but it released once the pressure was released. My next resort might be to heat it with a tourch, What do ya think?

I am not very adverse in the usage in heat, so, I really can't give you an opinion. Other than, if it works . . .

Put a strap around it and pull it with a hi-lift or other jeep. If it's got a memory and keeps wanting to go back, you may have to overbend it. Good luck.
